How to trust your builder's advice
The definition of an expert was finally made over the years in question. More often I come across facades experts provide the solution to your problems at home building without even looking at them! But if you construction advice, because you really want to know whether to trust or not?
When faced with a problem in your home can be daunting to think about investing time, energy and money that must go to get information. If you already have a good working relationship with a reliable builder, perhaps you will not be interrupted if there are any problems. But many people's first contact with relatives or so called "know" friends in an attempt to find a quick and cheap solution. Often these people have never been involved in all the associated trade has no experience in building and construction industry, although they enjoy painting and decorating in their spare time.
Instead of asking friends for advice, try to get a recommendation from them for a building expert or artisans who worked in their homes, their work, they have been with us too. Even if someone recommended, listen very carefully to all opinions and advice before acting on it is given. Sometimes knowledge is all too easily accepted if we see an impressive series of letters known building, plumbing or electrical skills to a business card. How often has each of us to see them or find out what those letters actually stand?
My personal opinion is in the equation is crucial. Do not start writing not from your own thoughts and opinions just because you have no technical equipment in buildings, know-how or modify a backup. Do not take an expert opinion on the correct method if you do not sit well with what has been said to you.
In considering advice from a competent friend, plumber, electrician or builder, ask yourself these simple questions:
1) Is it me, learn to make real sense?
2) Do I understand what caused the problem?
3) I understand the steps necessary to correct it?
4) Is it seems that the correct method?
5) Would like to give this person to work with and in my home?
Experts are only human and sometimes make mistakes. Never be afraid of more questions with answers until you are satisfied and have a comprehensive understanding of the situation. If you are not satisfied with what you said, do not hesitate to get a second opinion from another source. It is your home, after all.
